Parkville Neurosurgery is an association of independent consultant neurosurgeons in Melbourne, Australia.

We are dedicated to offering the best available care for our patients, with a wide range of brain and spinal conditions.

We accept referrals from both privately insured and public patients. However, work cover or third party patients are not seen by all surgeons.

Comprehensive Brain Tumour Treatment

Dr Morokoff, Dr Yuen, Mr Hall and A/ Prof Drummond have extensive experience in the surgical treatment of all types of brain tumours including glioblastomas, astrocytomas, meningiomas and acoustic neuromas. All patients have the advantage of the multidisciplinary resources of the Royal Melbourne Hospital and Melbourne Private Hospital. We promote an approach that includes the collaborative input of specialists in neuro-oncology, radiology, radiation oncology, psychology and social work to provide the most comprehensive and up to date care possible to help you make the right decisions about your treatment.

Minimally Invasive Spine Surgery

Dr Morokoff and Mr Hall are two of the few spine surgery specialists in Victoria to now offer minimally invasive surgery (MIS, also known as "keyhole" surgery) as an option for your spinal treatment. This technique, which is suitable for many, but not all patients, allows lumbar fusion surgery to be done via two small incisions, one on either side of your lower spine, rather than one very large midline incision, as was traditionally necessary. This results in less blood loss, lower infection risk, earlier discharge from hospital and potentially long term benefits as well. Dr Morokoff or Mr Hall will be happy to discuss with you during your appointment the details of your condition, the conservative treatment vs operative options and whether this MIS technique will be appropriate in your case.
